January at Wild Rose: The Quiet Start to a New Year

At Wild Rose College, we believe winter isn’t a pause in learning, it’s an invitation to go deeper.

While the world around us is rushing into resolutions and to-do lists, nature continues to rest. The plants are still holding their energy underground. The light is just beginning to return. And within this quiet, there’s space for reflection and planting the earliest seeds of what’s to come for 2026.

For our students this is a beautiful time to return to your studies, not with pressure but with presence. To revisit the areas of your learning that are calling to you most and to notice what you’re curious about and reconnect with the deeper why behind your path as an herbalist.

This January, we’re centering student connection, seasonal support, and steady momentum. Here’s what to watch for:

Upcoming Course Completion Challenge

A new year can be a great moment to wrap up what’s already begun. Join our winter Course Completion Challenge to help you finish a course you’ve been working on, get back into a rhythm with your program goals, or celebrate progress already made. There will be support, community encouragement, and some fun connections along the way.

Winter Edition of the Wild Rose Magazine

Just around the corner, our winter edition will arrive and is a seasonal reflection on Herbal Hygge, rest, and rootedness in the colder months. A companion to your learning, and a reminder that deep nourishment is a form of wisdom too.

Winter Sale & New Courses

Later this month, our much-anticipated Winter Sale returns along with two brand new course launches to help you dive into fresh and relevant learning while staying rooted in the season. Whether you’re looking to explore something new or build on your current practice, we’ll have offerings to meet you where you are. Keep your eye on our socials or your dashboard for the launch!

Program Upgrades in Progress

Behind the scenes, we’ve been gathering and integrating student feedback. You’ll start to see the results towards the end of the summer, beginning with full upgrades to the Practical Herbalist Program.  We’ll also be developing a refined student dashboard experience with more personalized support, focused study mode, and less noise. These are designed to make your learning experience more cohesive, accessible, and relevant.

Growing the Herbal Village + Professional Stream

We’re also setting the groundwork for big growth in 2026! A new Professional Stream designed to offer continuing education credits for herbalists and allied health professionals. And also major improvements to the Herbal Village, with new resources, events, and guided paths for practitioners and students alike.

These changes won’t happen all at once. They’re unfolding with care, guided by your feedback, the rhythm of the seasons, and the broader insights we’re gathering from trends in herbal education and online learning. We’re making thoughtful decisions to serve our community well into the future, and we truly value your commitment and your patience as we work to make your learning experience even stronger throughout the year ahead.

Stay close to your curiosity. Trust in the slow medicine of winter.

And know that everything we’re growing here is meant to support all that you’re becoming.

Pine + Cedar: Forest Medicine for Winter Lungs

In winter, the world goes quiet. Sap retreats into the earth, plants pause their outward growth, and nature invites us to follow her lead; slower mornings, deeper breaths, long exhalations.
